The Nashville Wife has been around for ONE FULL YEAR as of yesterday, February 28th, 2019.
O N E + Y E A R
It’s been an interesting journey to say the least. I’m glad I started it and I am going to continue! I’m going to try to get better about posting!
My goals for year #2?
+ Consistency + Clearer direction + Better updates about life events, less flakiness + Read more blogs of others
THANK YOU to those who have stuck with me from the beginning, to those who read my posts or – heck – even just like it. I have some that actually click “like” on pretty much every single post and I truly appreciate that so much. These people in particular have truly been so kind. Please check out their blogs:
The more I have been blogging, the more I have ventured out of my house and sought the comfort of a cozy Nashville coffeehouse (and let’s be honest… it also allows me to be with other humans beside my 2-year-old and fur babies)
I have many that I like but here are my top 5 favorites!
(yeah, I was totally boy crazy..this is no secret. It was embarrassing.)
It was in Horn Creek, Colorado when it happened
(…no, not when I first liked the boy… well I mean I guess that’s always possible. But no, no… when I got lost. On a mountain.)
So it was our day to climb the mountain, Horn Peak. My dad + me along with a good sized group of our dearest church family friends. I was pumped. I loved hiking but a mountain?! How cool is that! You even get a certificate at the end which was also cool. I was such a dweeb and I loved myself for it.
I played a gig in Mississippi a few weeks ago with an amazing cover band called Downtown Band. We showed up to the gig and started unloading as usual when someone realized that the trombone player Eric was gone. We figured he was in the bathroom, and kept setting up.
It had a bit of a slow start to the point I was sad by yet another dud. I was considering returning it but I decided to try once again. I’m glad I did.
Clarissa is being stalked by a creep who becomes so much more. Is love possible during such a nightmare? Are people prone to be attracted to all the wrong ones?
What keeps me from giving this 4.5 stars is besides the fact that many who’ve been stalked say this is accurate (and I do believe most of it is) there’s certainly some things here that are not reality. Things she does and things she doesn’t do that are ludicrous. She protects all the women in her life but never even bothers to try and protect any of the men when they obviously should know what’s going on. Even when things get dangerous and threatening to them, she still doesn’t bother. She never tries to videotape or audio record anything, never purchases a security camera, etc. a lot of things missed in my opinion (things I certainly would’ve done especially as this was a slow-moving stalker, at least at first. Part of the illusion).
Overall this is a good book and one I’m glad I read. I’m on board with everyone else about the ending. Really? Weird weird ending. Felt too rushed and thrown together like maybe the author was close to her deadline.. oh well. Still a good book 😉
Emotions are running high when a couple decides to walk away from the relationship. The “who keeps what” game starts up and an already stressful situation tends to get fired up even more. We all know that children tend to get caught in the middle but what about the family pet? There are a few things to consider to ensure your fur babies go to the right home suited for them and some are not as easy as you think.
I have waited two years for the toddler stories and I am so thrilled (really, Sarah?) to have some to tell!!!
#1: The Puzzle
Jackson has this animal puzzle that seemed like a good idea (My mom bought it and I was so excited! I knew Jackson would love it!) but it’s a puzzle that has the little red knobs on the top of each piece so that you can pick them up out of their cut-out spot. It also has a sensor so it makes noises when you find each spot for the puzzle pieces.
If you put a pig in it’s spot, it makes a pig sound. A cat makes a cat sound, etc. Well apparently it’s also light sensitive. But here’s the thing: JUST the pig. So EVERY NIGHT… Continue reading – 5 – Short Toddler Stories
